12/28 4 weeks ago today....

Today Myra has been in the hospital for 4 weeks. As if she hasn't been having enough fun, they performed a colonoscopy and endoscope on Myra to find out where the internal bleeding is coming from.

(when I posted the other day about her getting 2 blood units it was because they discovered internal bleeding)

The doctors removed some polups which is routine but found ulcers in the rectum as well as an ulcer in the location of a surgery she had earlier this year.

The preliminary answer from the doctors is they will treat the ulcers with antacids and give her more red blood as she needs it.

On a positive note, her blood pressure and heart rate are stable. If these continue to be stabilized through the weekend, she will probably go back to Bethesda before the weekend is up.

She is really tired today and will most likely sleep the rest of the day.

P.S. Please email me at theratcliffs@charter.net if you want to leave a comment to Myra but can't figure out how to do it.

Myra: My thoughts have always been with you. Lindsay has moved out to California and asked about you every time she calls. She remembers how nice and easy it was to talk to you. Shawn is back in Minnesota, married and expecting baby number 2 in just 3 weeks. That should keep us all out of trouble :) Let us know if we can do anything. Rest easy, Katherine.

What part of her body have they NOT investigated? We knew about the big, strong and giving heart. Hugs and kisses to all. Kelli thanks for what you are doing for all of us.

Myra, It is great to be able to find out how you are doing. I was really concerned about you. I miss our long chats about the books we have read, the news from VLR and who else can I complain to about my granddaughters. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Loves, Kathy D from Bloomington
